Friends of mine noted that after a period of XTC use, they experienced muscle twitching and tactile brain awareness (actually feeling your brain). Anybody out there that has experienced these or other strange body effects from drugs?

My little stint with a harsh drug, I wont be naming it, left me definately feeling my brain floating in its own juices. I do believe it is the cause of my bi polar issues today. It definately messed up some brain chemistry. That feeling of my brain floating only lasted while I was under the influence of this drug tho, it was not a lasting effect.

When I was on coke and XTC I experienced uncontrolable twitching of myupper calf muscle.I sat there for a good half hour watching it and I'd never seen anything like it before.

On a different day while I was just under the influence of X,I ate about 10 pills over the course of the weekend and by the time I was finished my jaw was completely clenched and I had lock jaw for three days.

There's something about that drug that's really messed up! That's why I only try to stick with the drugs that come from the ground. You never know what's in those pills.

I'd definitely say hard drugs (mainly extasy and coke) have a far bigger mental impact than physical in terms of after effects. In terms of twitching, I get periodic random muscle twitching every once in a while (have for as long as I can remember), not really sure if drugs exaserbate this condition or not.

I can remember ingesting around 4g of MDMA over the course of a month, a few years ago. I realise now it was extremely stupid and I have never been the same since :(

I can remember having eye wobbles for many months afterwards as well as uncontrollable muscle twitching ( I mean everything!!). Still to this day, I will hallucinate and see objects that arent really there...

I was a farkn mess for a long time and Im still affected to this day. But DXM abuse also screwed me up :(

My dopamine receptors are non-existant!! <img border="0" src= "smileys/smiley4.gif">

Why the frown after DXM...even if you managed to abuse it, I honestly wouldn't trade my experiences back for all the brain cells and career/educational oppurtunites I lost. I am going to PM you because I am curious about what you think DXM has done, and what you consider abuse.

I have had alot of the symptoms u guyz are talkin about. But the only one i can remember that i have had that noone mentioned is i wave been having trouble with my left knee cap since i started using x. I got off of it about 4 months ago and i have strange periods where my knee hurts when i try to stretch my leg, i know there could be a dif reason for this, but the reason i posted it is because it happened when i started to use X.

Sorry for the long post

This is to blame to the shortage of serotonine in your brain, defintely a sympton that the xtc did some temporal damage.

My advice is to let them refill their serotonine, takes abouts 6 weeks, but i would wait 3 months. (could be they already do) And then pre/post-load, don't know if that is a known term on this forum. But it is a known-term with much xtc-users.

The idea of pre/post load is to fill and refill your brain after using xtc. And to clean up usally done during the 24-72 hour periodon each side of the roll.

Pre/post loading can also significant increase the duration and intensity of you roll. This because you have more neurotransmitters in your brain to use, and more endorphines to last longer.

Substances you can use for pre/post loading: (got from bluelight):

5HTP – Although not proven to be effective, 5HTP is a precursor to serotonin. 5HTP is available OTC at pharmacies and health stores. Pre/postloading doses usually vary from 100-500mg.

Magnesium – Magnesium is a commercially available and natural muscle relaxant. This idea behind using muscle relaxants is to relieve the jaw clenching that can often accompany MDMA use. Preloading doses usually vary from 300-500mg.

Vitamin C – Studies have indicated that Vitamin C can be effective in combating neurotoxicity. Doses usually start at 500mg and go up from there, with 1000-2000mg being a common pre/postloading dose.Alpha-lipoic Acid – Studies have indicated that ALA can be effective in combating neurotoxicity. The effective dose range for ALA is 500-3000mg.

Antacids – The combined effects of drugs, drinking (even water) and dancing can seriously upset stomachs. Having a few Tums handy can preserve a good trip and save you a jog to the loo.

Grapefruit Juice – Grapefruit juice inhibits CYP3A4, which is an enzyme in your digestive system that aids in the metabolism of many drugs. By inhibiting CYP3A4, you are essentially making more MDMA available. Although there is some debate as to what exact component(s) of grapefruit juice have this effect, it is accepted that something in there does the job.

L-Tyrosine and DLPA – While some people advocate preloading with L-Tyrosine and/or DLPA, this idea has been discredited. DLPA is a precursor to L-Tyrosine, and L-Tyrosine is a precursor to dopamine. Much of the speculation about MDMA related neurotoxicity centres on dopamine being taken up through serotonin reuptake transporters.

Other substancesI recommend are:

L-cysteine - Selenium - Vitamine E

Yup, i can accually "feel" my brain and i have twiches sometimes.

I have used A LOT of ecstacy, cannabis, GHB, and psychedlics such as LSD. DXM fucked me up real bad for a couple of weeks after ingesting 1 gram of it, which was a bit too much i realize. My use of drugs has definitly left it marks on me, but i have to tell ya: I accuallyprefer the state iīm in today over the state i was ina few years ago. Somehow i feel more experienced, and i have become more humble towards people, animals, nature e.t.c.

I will not stop doing drugs!!

For a while I was over doing X. I was popping them like...well like they were free or something......I never had a DR. check this out so it is not confirmed or anything, but when I would fall asleep I would wake up a few times almost every night shaking very hard...after I quite eating E all the time this went away. Demarol (sp) I would be smoking a cig. and my hand would throw the cig. w/o my consent (weird) over and over again. It was like I could not control my arm/hand.

I definitely noticed some negative after-effects when abusing E or coke, but I think alcohol can be just as bad, because I get negative effects from abusing too much of this as well, especially in combination with stimulants. I know when I was drinking a lot and doing a lot of coke, I started to have panic attacks, and cut down subsequently...

On 50mg of 2-ci last Saturday, I felt some pain in my head whilst out, but was still enjoying the euphoric rushes at the time, so dismissed it.

Did have bad headache the next day, but nothing that lasted over a day.

I just remember thinking at the time, what if a part of my brain is trying to seperate inside my head http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

Sometimes I will get some twitches and spasms while using xtc. I rarely use XTC at all anymore and I don't get any twitches etc.
