I'm not asking how to do it or anything. I think I really do have ADD, a mild case at the least.

I have a therapist. I talked with her last Tuesday, and she said we
need to try one thing, and if it doesn't work, move onto the next
thing, until we find a solution, but I need to actually try.

For this week, she wants me to try to just take notes, because it
"forces" me to pay attention. She wants me to write down what's going
on and what's being said, and then review everything later.

Obviously, there needs to be some kind of problem with this, because my
goal is Adderall. What do you think I should tell her is wrong with
this? That might be confusing... I mean... I need to make her think
that the note taking thing isn't going to work, and she probably needs
to know why it isn't working.

she is probably one of those who believes in "natural way"
of
treatment, I wouldn't be surprise if she'd give you some of those
herbal alternatives like Attend or other, there are quite of few of the
out there. Just find a
different doctor. I got my first meds (Ritalin) after the second
visit.

LOL yes she is one of them that believes in "natural treatment". She
told me on the first visit that there isn't any easy way to cure it.
Then she went on about how since I've told myself that I've had ADD
over so many years that it's just getting worse and worse and I need to
believe that there is nothing wrong with me and all kinds of
bullshit like that. I just wanted to slap her fat face as hard as I
could. She doesn't know what ADD is really like, and it's
definitely not psychological.

And a different doctor isn't an option. My first therapist was a weird
guy, and we were going absolutely no where. When we visited, the only
thing we ever talked about was things like how life is going at home,
my sleeping habits, my eating habits, social life, what time of day is
it easiest to concentrate at and why (WTF?), etc. There were many times
that he had to fumble through a bunch of papers looking for the
original reason I was referred to him by my doctor... "Therapy and
medication for ADD". Then my therapist quit the job, so they gave me
someone else.

Now my new therapist seems pretty snotty, yet not as nosey as the last
one. She shows no emotion and acts like I'm just there because I have
to be. She acts like she knows everything, too.

add/adhd is actually a chemical inbalance in the brain (they can
actually see it in MRIs i think). But if you think you have add/adhd
there are tests administered to determine this. In short you need to be
tested. Your therapist should atleast be knowledable enough to ask some
preliminary questions. There are also centers that specialize in this
kind of testing. Find one and get tested. Make sure your insurence
covers it because it's very expensive otherwise. hope this helps.
