I felt the same way for the longest time. I think coke was one of the hardest things to get over. I started snorting ephedrine and welbutrin and shit like that to try to get the snort and back of your thraot taste thing back but nothing compared. It took a while of just being physically away fro the drug and not snorting anything else before I wasn't thinking about it 24-7. Support groups helped me, doing anything I could to get my mind off it. I still think about it every once in a while, but it is not overwhealming anymore.
I don't miss snorting it, I just miss the taste in my throat. It's so hard, but I need to remember why I quit.

One of the best things I did when quiting coke was going to the gym. Coke works on dopamine and it will be depleted when you quit. You'll need to do something to make yourself feel good naturally or else you'll end up going back to coke. Exercise worked for me. I finally put some weight on, which helped with the depression from quiting coke, and lifting weights naturally increases dopamine levels. Finding something to fill the time I used to spend doing coke was very important.
Tips for quitting drugs?
The problem I see is how fondly the mind remembers the high...
How do you forget?

Alcohol will make you forgethttp://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif. Just joking. Alcohol is the worst trigger for me. Getting drunk is a bad idea for most if your tring to quit something. Sometimes you cant even remember relapsing. http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifEdited by: hippie_lain

My god, smoking is the perfect example. I don't drink much when I drink, cause it feels so shitty not to have a smoke.
When S.W.I.M. had to quit for 1 1/2 years, Steel Reserve and hard liquor saved the day, every day, often twice a day! You are totally right about it not being a good idea to drink when you're avoiding drugs. Once S.W.I.M. called up a friend one night, said "Bring me some smoke," and him and his son showed up with white rocks... which S.W.I.M. did. Fortuneately, probation had ended many months before.
Actually, if you all can believe this, S.W.I.M. was the first one in my county a judge ever let off probation early for good behavior. 3 years to 1 1/2, I believe.

I miss Family guy and a girl I once was in love with (actually still
am), I also miss my old cat, Fat...he was awesome...I miss the time
when idealism and liberalism weren't so reviled, I also miss the good
ol' days of alternative rock (Billy Corgan get off your high horse and
reconcile with the rest of the group and do a Smashing Pumpkins
reunion, if the Pixies can do it so can you)...I also miss coke very
much, the soda pop that is, it used to be my main course for every
meal...mmmmm those fuzzy cold bubbles...but I quit drinking it cause
its bad. Sorry this is so off topic, I was gonna write something
positive and then started thinking about other stuff...heres my 2
cents...Stay in school and dont do drugs.....also dont drink and drive.
Knowledge is power.
I quit because my ex girlfriend left me because I was starting to use coke. It's true, what people say. "If you really loved her, you would've quit." She didn't give me enough time to do it, and just left me since she comes from a family that uses drugs and can't stand them. And I don't blame her, I was the one who fucked up...
Well, the only thing I miss about it is the taste. I don't really like to snort it, since it messed up my nose. And I guess, I just smoke more now. It helps....

the gym also helped me with quitting speed/coke. once you begin working out consistently, your body will demand that you start putting foods into it because of what the exercise is burning up. after a while, you will put weight on and start feeling better about yourself.
