The Long Hard Road Out of Hell
Marilyn Manson
8.5/10
This book I would recommend to anyone, not just fans. Manson is a very gifted writer and has a great sense of humour. I think most people already consider him an interesting character and this autobiography (co-written with Neil Strauss) allows for a look into his head: to view the world through the eyes of Marilyn Manson. He offers great insights and shares many strange stories that helped shape his life. There is copious drug use. One of the more interesting stories being an acid trip where he foresees his future as a rock star. It also covers his coke addiction. Fundamentally he sees drugs as a useful tool. He details quite a lot of drug experiences as well as sexual encounters, offers his side of the story on some of the accusations against him. Plenty of sex, drugs and rock and roll. Superbly told, his sarcasm and sharp wit is thoroughly enjoyable.
