Anyone get dreams that are SO realistic that you think that theyre actually happening. Very graphic. Very BEAUTIFUL C DREAMS> :)
Do you sometimes get dreams about sniffing C.... ?
Getting C.... Cutting lines. Sniffing. Getting high. /// Edited by: Alfa
Hell YES!!!
...and they aren't the kind of dreams that you forget,
either. These dreams stick in your memory and
make you want to go pick some up.

I wake up, roll over, grab the plate on my nightstand and doa line! Gotta love it! http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
Yes, but not just Coke, I have dreams like this about every substance. I have dreams of smoking weed that where very realistic and I thought I was actually high, even when I woke up the first 2-3 minutes I thought I was high.
I always have had very vivid realistic dreams though, about every night, In fact I can remmember last nights dream and it was about kronic.
(I have been off the weed so it haunts me in my dreams...in a good way)
This is part of addiction. It is the manifestation of the wish to use. Many people even experience the psychoactive effects of the drugs they dream of taking. The brain actually releases the neurotransmitters and mimics the effect.

I think I've experienced that! Either that or the feeling was within the dream was intensely vivid. I often have dreams about drugs, though more often than not I spend the duration of the night wandering around in my mind SEARCHING for drugs http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif . But when I do finally get them, I have felt like I was high, and the feeling has woken me up on occasion because it felt so real.

indeed, i have experience that with marijuana countless times. I've also experienced it twice with lsd, but i've never actually dosed in real life, i guess all that reading was put to SOME good use :D

Hmmm ... the DREAMs are so realistic they stick in your memory. its like a REAL experience.
You know - its possible to recall any experience at will. with practice you can PERFECT this.
like recalling the experience of heat can make your body temperature go up ... i have seen people do this and then felt their had before and after, they were sitting right in front of me... there was a marked difference of temperature...
Similarly the dreams are so REAL and GRAPHIC that its like experiencing it. ...
i dream about doing drugs all the time, its like when im awake im on drugs, then when im sleeping im thinking about being on drugs, getting drugs, it gets annoying after a while because you just realize all you do is drugs.
The experience says a lot about addiction. The same thing happens when you think of using a drug. By thinking of using drugs your brain reproduces the experience on a much smaller scale. i.e. thinking of using makes you feel good.

I usually dream about doing drugs every night....or at least having them on me. I wonder if you're brain can be damaged in the dreams or you're seritioin or dopamine can be effected cause I do feel like I'm high in the dreams.
that would definatly be interesting, because dreams feel very real. like when your dreaming about bustin out hollywoods and getting all jacked, then you wake up and cant comprehend whether or not your coked out or not. the craziest is dreaming about being on hallucinogens, very tripped.
All of my dreams on coke are very vivid. I have yet to have a dream of
actually doing coke though. Most of my dreams are very wierd
situations, but I feel as if I am actually there. A quick example from
a couple weeks ago: I was dreaming that I was outside of a hotel where
I was standing right in the middle of a HUGE gunfight (don't ask how I thought of this, it was a dream).</font> </span>I
could seriously hear and feel the bullets whizzing by my head. When I
woke up I remembered everything as if it had just happened in real
life. I was scared when I first woke up because I thought I was still
in the middle of it.
I am going to move this tread to the pharmacology forum and change the topic name to drug dreams as this applies to most, if not all drugs.
Hey,
I love dreams about drugs. Last night I had a small bit of coke and acid. When I slept, I dreamt I was still tripping walking around this forest it was great.
I have had dreams about weed, coke, lsd and shrooms. In all of them I felt the effects I would in real life.
It's great

I have had a few dreams that involved certain drugs, usually these were
quite nice. However when SWIL has done coke they have had
terrible dreams when they eventually fall asleep which can be quite
unpleasant especially when it could take a long time to get to sleep on
the stuff.

hmmm.. interesting
Since I started taking the prescription drug Effexor I've been haveing
weird, very vivid, very real, very awake-like dreams. I've even had a
few times when I'm sure it was an OBE. I don't really dream about doing
drugs, but this drug has added a nice twist to my dreams.

I just recently had a drem where i was smoking a cuban cigar sized blunt, but it was wierd because the wrap was all flakey and shit.
OBE's, extream vividness and being aware that you're dreaming and even
being able to control what you do in dreams are all part of Lucid
dreaming, it is a very natural thing and pretty much anyone can learn
to do this with practice.
http://www.lucidity.com/LucidDreamingFAQ2.html
If that sounds like FAR too much effort to try (even to read as I
thought!) try this: Wake yourself up about an hour before you would
usually get up and get straight out of bed, stay up for about an hour,
have a shower etc (im not sure if eating/drinking impairs this at all)
then after about an hour, go back to bed or find somewhere else to
sleep but have no intention of sleeping, its probably best that you put
music, or a tv on, then just sit there, relax as much as you can and
try to keep your mind on the tv while relaxing as much as you can,
whatever you do, don't allow yourself fall to sleep.
After a while, you'll get to the point where you can barely open your
eyes, you'll fall asleep without realising it and have some of the most
real dreams of your life, whats even better is that when you wake up
you can remember so much of it.
i had a well weird dream the other day, i cant really remember the start of it, but at the end i was in bed and i dropped a pill, i woke up as soon as this happened, i had pills at my flat, so i though "shit, im gonna be mashed at 11 in the morning", it was worrying me at first but then i just though "what the hell?" so i put some banging music on and waited, but nothing happened. i was soo convinced that i did it. drug dreams are always realistic.

Ialways used to get them when I was locked up. They shit really sucked, I would feel like I'm at a party with my friends, getting wasted, I'm mean just having the time of my life. Then, all of the sudden, the lights in my cell would come on and there would be an asshole guard tellin' me to get out of bed or he'll pepper spray my ass. Then I would spend the rest of the day wishing my current situation was just a bad trip from taking too much drug'sand was still at the party in my dream. After a couple of years dealing with that, I hope I never have another dream again. Besides all that, those dreams were awsome.
What would happen if one dosed just before going to sleep? Lucid dreams, vivid dreams, would it wake you up? That would be one heck of a wake up...

Depends on what you take. If you take a dissociative(DXM) it will likely wake you in an awkward state of mind. If it's a psychedelic, then you will likely wake up in a dream lamd.
If it's a psychedelic, then you will likely wake up in a dream lamd.
Might be fun, you'd be able to get into a light sleep, perhaps the brainwave activity would stay slightly the same when you became concious allowing you to direct your trip. Pipe dreams perhaps but SWIM's experiences lead him to believe this may be true.Edited by: Meth0d

My ganja consumption tends to reduce my ability to remember my dreams.
But last years, during certain periods, I did a recurrent nightmare.
I was staying in Amsterdam with my girlfriend or my best mate, and everytime the same scenario occures.
We stay a whole week in A'dam and at this fifth-sixth day, I have still not visited any coffeeshop. The Nightmare, paranoia, nervous breakdown.
And at the end, I finally become crazy, insult my co-traveler and leave her/him in search of a coffee'..............

I have never took acid or any thing that makes me trip thats a illegal drug, yet i have had dreams about taking large amounts of acid and dxm and eating shrooms and all kinds of crap that ive never done its wierd, i smoke weed and have dreams about weed but i can quit whenever i want to, i quit all the time just so my addiction doesnt become my main goal in life, if i still get cravings i quit for longer, ive never had any problem quiting except a day or two of depression, i still cant figure out why i have dreams about doing other drugs that ive never even seen in real life, like XTC. O well my dreams are awsome.

i've hade dreams that actually effected my perseption in the
dream i actually tripped out all night like i was on like two eighths
of some of the most killer mushrooms. it was cool but it only happened
once. is there any way to make this happen?

I guess you could eat a 1/4 of some of the most killer shrooms and go to sleep right afterwards. I'm sure that when they kick in, they will wake your ass up.http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif
Drug dreams are some of the weirdest experiences ever. I thought I was imagining waking up and still being on drugs before I saw this thread (didn't know it was possible). I've woke up high a lot.
I've used to have them before I used any drugs... I still have them now... I want to go back to my dreams...

The funny thing is, whenever I dream about drugs I almost always either
have them but don't use them, or use them and wake up before anything
happens...
The one exception to this was this dream I had about acid... I was at
the mall at some kind of "dealer convention" where all these dealer
guys were talking, and all of a sudden the police came... so I was all
like, 'hey what the hell', and ran up and grabbed a page from
someone. Then I was like, 'shit now they're after me... better
hide the evidence', so I ate the whole page.
The dream went on, but to make a long story short (mainly because this
is starting to sound stupid) that dream acid made some of the most
realistic visual and mental effects.
A few days after I got my print edition of PIHKAL, I had a dream...
I was in my school library, flipping through art books. The school
police officer and a group of librarians approached me and stole my
backpack and escorted it down the hall. I was outraged about my
personal rights being violated. I followed them and was detained. They
put me in a little room. After a while, they came in and said they
found crystal meth in my backback (I've never done crystal, nor was it
in my dream backpack). I denied and denied. Then they came back and
said that I was going to be arrested for manufacturing controlled
substances (methamphetamine). I was outraged about such false
accusations, and couldn't figure out why they were accusing me without
evidence.
After I woke up I realized their suspicions stemmed from how often
-amphetamine appears in PIHKAL. It had been a fear of mine that a
friend or relative would stumble upon my copy of PIHKAL and conclude I
was some super genius meth chemist, synthing meth variations.

i did very realistic dreams with opium.... :>
I had an interesting one today, brought on by it being bicycle day most
likely (it was in my thoughts all day, and I had a nice bike ride).
I ingested an eight of mushrooms and had a full-blown trip, beginning
with giggles and music, ending with a spiritual experience.

I noticed after a night of pot, I don't have really lucid dreams. I wake up groggy
But with coke, I have had some WICKED dreams. Not always good, cuz I have woken up from some BAD dreams, only to awake in a pool of sweat and can't go back to sleep.

Recently swim has been smoking alot of hash, between 7-14 grams a day, and all of his dreams have been white static like on TV when you have no signal. From what he can tell its all night long too, he wakes up several times a night and thinks to himself "still static?" Its weird it has never happened to SWIM on anything before just this hash. All SWIMs friends think its not good, i just think its prolly weird dreams. oh well i guess SWIM will find out once the hash runs out.

7-14g of hash (provided it's not soapbar) a day? Hardcore.
Noticing the title of this thread, I thought this was about dreams where you think you're on drugs only to wake up and notice it was a dream. I've experienced dreams such as those, where I would take some crazy RC or random hallucinogenic which I have never tried and would have a bizarre trip. I've also had dreams of rolling joints and smoking them.

Its SWIMs homemade bubble hash, made from over 2 pounds of free clippings. Which equals lots of free hash at SWIMs disposal, what else would he do but smoke 7-14 grams a day lol.

I agree with Alfa on this. SWIM currently had to stop using drugs because she had a drug test coming up. SWIM thought it would be much easier than it was, especially since SWIM strongly believes she has a high level of self control. Well, as much as SWIM knows about marijuana and even one day hopes to be the girl who legalizes it, she did have some withdrawl effects. Also, Amphetamine has been a hard drug to stop. Other drugs that SWIM use to use before this drug test where drugs such as Benzodiazepines, yet she noticed benzo's weren't as hard as Marijuana and Amphetamine to stop using. The first two to three weeks, SWIM would have a dream where she was with her bestfriend, smoking marijuana. SWIM wouldn't say the dreams were bad or scarey for that matter, just depressing once she woke up and realized she couldn't go smoke. She would even wake up a few times during the nite thinking, "Did that just actuallly happen?" Ofcourse, she was back into reality and realized it didn't and would fall back to sleep. One night, about into her second week of stopping the marijuana use, she woke up 4 different times and fell back to sleep and waking up the next morning realizing she had 4 different extremely vivid dreams about marijuana usage. All the dreams were good, considering the fact that she didn't actually have to get high, but in her dreams it sure felt like she did. So, basically this is where I am saying that I agree with Alfa, because I would defiantly say these dreams were withdrawl effects.

I've had some really interesting drug dreams. I once dreamt about taking 2C-B years before I ever got a chance to try it, influenced by reading trip reports (it was nothing like an actual 2C-B trip btw!). SWIM has had two dreams, involving taking huge qty's of 1. MDMA and 2. Xanax, both of which were so realistic that he had to get up upon waking and immediately check his stashes..but SWIM has a tendancy to experience dreams whose realities can be hard to shake upon waking. Just two days ago, he spent three hours escaping a dream in which he broke three molars, he was feeling them all morning to make sure.
SWIM has also had some rather interesting "brain movie" type dreams on 2C-D taken after coming down from MDMA, weird stuff.

There was a thread not long ago called DMT and dreams but something wierd happened to it.....ohh well.
Okay SWIM has had lots of dreams reguarding drugs but only a few that can come to mind. One time he had a dream that he and a friend got a sheet of acid. They both took some acid and went to walmart to wait for the acid to kick in. They started walking around walmart and in the dream SWIM started to have visuals and got very anxious and confused in walmart. SWIM was tripping too hard so he had to leave and then he took some XTC and was candyflipping. SWIM knows he took X in the dream too but doesnt remember when. He mostly remembers walking around walmart and having some nice trails and merging with the different isles in the store. It was a lot like real acid and when SWIM woke up he thought he had half a sheet. He realized it was a dream about 5 seconds after waking up.
SWIM has had another dream where he smoked 5-meo-dmt. He has never done this in real life, he has only smoked regular DMT. So in the dream he took a hit of 5-meo-dmt from a base pipe and went into the void. There was just a bright white light and SWIM could not move. It felt similar to DMT but the visuals were just completely white. SWIM has only snorted 5-meo-dmt so he doesnt know the true power of this compound. The dream felt a lot like DMT does and it was similar to the time he snorted 5-meo-dmt but it was a stronger trip.
SWIM also had a dream where he was falling from a water tower. SWIM remembers falling to his death and it felt so real. SWIM was convinded he was falling to his death and these were the last few moments of his life. He felt weightless and as he soared to the ground he fell into a kalidescopic tunnel of energy that sent a surge through his body. If you have ever tripped on DMT you know what SWIM is talking about. This was the end of time and the beginning of something new. SWIM fell into this different dimension which was very similar to the percieved dimension on DMT. It all happened much quicker though. With DMT it takes a few seconds to kick in but the dream made this transition instantly. SWIM has always heard DMT is found in the brain and this was somewhat of a near death experience. SWIM was in a dream but his mind tricked his body into thinking he was about to die. Maybe some DMT was released or something. SWIM has also heard that DMT has something to do with melatonin and sleep. There is also speculation that it is in the pienal gland and is released before death etc etc etc. SWIM could go on and on but most of you probably know all of these theories allready. Some of this may be prooven SWIM isnt sure he just has a few theories of his own and DMT probably is found in the human brain. For what purpose??? who knows. DMT is interesting shit and is definitely worthy of experimentation.
HMM guess thats it. SWIM has had other dreams too where he got stoned but they were not as vivid as the DMT dreams. hope you all enjoy this post because it is completely fictional, who the fuck is SWIM anyways? probably just someone who is stoned off of da MJ and about to go to sleep....happy dreams

Hmmm...SWIM has also found that the more drugs she takes the harder it is for her to recognize between reality and dreaming. She had problems with this before, and has often thought that a dream was real up to months after she had it, before realizing that it was just a dream. Ever since she started using (not anything specific, just drugs in general) she's found it harder and harder to recognize between when she is high and awake, sober and awake, or dreaming. Everything seems to kind of run into everything else, and often she'll spend a day or two high (usually on DXM or vicodin) and then when she's finally sober she feels as if the last day or two were just a dream, and if she fell asleep and woke up high she has a VERY hard time differentiating between reality and dreamland, often the only reason she knows that she was dreaming is because when she asks around she finds out that it didn't happen! It's easy for her to realize if it's reality if it's that day, but whenever she wakes up it's as if everything that has previously happened has all run into one dream-like state and she can't really recall what was real and what wasn't.

yea i find that I get the most realistic dreams that Iv ever ahd when trying to sleep after taking codeine or other opiates, they also seem far easier to remember in detail- this is weird because i usually wake up in the morning not remebering my dreams at all.
this must be due to the downer effect of the opiates, which are making it easier to achieve and maintain REM sleep. Any thoughts?

SWIM always dreams about drugs when going through withdrawal. Always. But almost never actually gets to use them, something always delays it, like a parent will be in the room, or someone will spill the drugs or the syringe wont work or cops are at the door......
The most vivid dream ever happened while in rehab... it was one of the few that swim actually got to use the drugs.....rehab involved about 4 group therapy sessions a day like NA I guess, there were 30 or so people in this group and would sit in a circle and blah blah, anyway in this dream swim was in one of these sessions when one of the group came in with 2 grocery bags, one had like 500 little blue heroin bags in it, the other was full of 1ml needles, everyone loaded up and had a blast together, even the nurses and counsellors joined in and the joy of 30 hanging junkies finally having a blast..... in rehab....and getting away with it.... was amazing. Then swim woke up sick.
My pet dragon has certainly had dreams where he's done various drugs, mostly weed and salvia, but nothing interesting happened in those dreams. However, he's had a few dreams where he has felt the effects of the drug in the dream. On one occasion, he has gotten so high he could barely walk. He felt quite high even upon waking up, but it faded after he realized it had been a dream.
My dragon has also had three dreams in which he's consumed psychedelics (two mushroom dreams, one 2C-E dream). In all of these, he began seeing visuals. At times, the visuals were very reminiscent of the drugs, interesting swirling fractal patterns. However, he also had visuals unlike any he's had on these drugs, like his entire vision turning into stained glass.
What drugs have your dreams mimicked and how accurate was your brain in recreating the experience? Has anyone attempted to use dream-like states to recreate drug experiences?

Swim have had using dreams before, mostly with speed, a couple with acid. He takes them all in stride. Accuracy was precise, throwing the stuff in a spoon, adding water, etc. Even felt the pin prick a few times, and the rush. Damn, making his scalp crawl, thinking about them.
Oh swim has had a lot of using dreams when detoxing or abstaining from her drug of choice which is speed. They are very vivid and she will actually wake up in a cold sweat thinking omg she used. Very weird like the cravings enter into your subconcious.

Monkey has a pseudo-experiment going on right now. He frequently dreams of mushrooms; sometimes he's out hunting, mostly he just sees them around. Sometimes he dreams that he is tripping. He wants to see if he can trip simply by eating the mushrooms in his dreams. Unfortunately he is having a hard time getting the whole lucid dreaming thing down :(

SWIM once had a dream involving smoking a large salvia hit in public and becoming dehabilitated. It seemed to fall in line with any of those classic "struggle" dreams that often involves not being able to run or not being able to defend oneself. The perceived effects of drugs certainly do carry into the dreamscape and the subconscious.
This has occurred for SWIM as well. What SWIM finds most interesting is that these dreams seem to give stronger effects than the drugs would themselves, like a 'better' version of the same drug, if that were possible, though he can only remember a few seconds of the mind-blowing beginning of these experiences. SWIM has experienced mushrooms, LSD, and other various reality-shattering hallucinogens in his dreams so far.
SWIM once dreamt he was downing a fifth (0.75L) of vodka while talking to Martha Stewart and Donald Trump. I shit you not. Not one of his better dreams.
Also, he once dreamt he came across a small glass vial marked "insuffulated dillys." Had to wake up, though, to figure it out.
SWIM has yet to have a dream in which he plugged ANYTHING...though he's dreamt of autofellatio before...

^^^ Is swim sure it was auto??:)
SWIM's never had a dream about taking drugs, that he remembers, but he once had a dream about mushrooms. It's a bit fuzzy, but it was as if he was watching a sort of 'documentary' on the dangers of mushrooms. There were two guys in a forest, next to this signpost for some reason, and one of them started frantically eating the mushrooms that he found. Like, a ridiculous amount. Probably >100g fresh. As he continued to do this, the background started to fade away until it was just this sort of repeating pattern of leaves, similar to the background on a certain well-known Salvia research website which I can't link to because it's also commercial. All that was left was him, the background, and the signpost. Suddenly, the signpost had legs for some reason, and it started growing. It now had rudimentary holes serving as eyes and a mouth, and around the point where it got bigger than the man, it started to sing. It was like a cheesy broadway number, all in order to tormet the guy. Eventually the sign became ridiculously big and turned sideways, and the man fell onto it. He then had to play some kind of twisted game where he had to jump through its eyeholes while it was tilting around, still singing. That's when SWIM woke up.
Obviously, this dream bears no resemblance to the actual effects of Psilocybe mushrooms, but it was hilarious all the same. I often have dreams with crazy singing in them. I wish I could remember them better, lol.
Also, SWIM shits you not, that was an actual dream.

Your brain can mimic anything you experience in waking life in your dreams, drug trips included. SWIM has had several dreams where he was on E or mushrooms, and it felt pretty much the same. He has also tried smoking salvia in a lucid dream, however it just sedated him like a combo of valium and weed. Anyone who is into lucid dreaming should try taking drugs in their dream, would be interesting to try a drug in a dream you haven't taken in real life and see what you mind comes up with.
Threads merged.
Relevant IMO:
I think it is the other way around. Thinking about drug use itself or related concepts releases a small amount of neurotransmitters, thus mimicking the effects of the drug experience. This is why users like to think about drug use often, as the memory itself is a psychoactive experience.
Even more interesting; this also causes Drug dreams (http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4158&highlight=drugs+dreams). Dreams in which the user takes drugs and experiences the effects of the drug. You can call this 'extreme memory' as well.
AFAIK learning patterns are caused by repeated rapid firing sequences of neurones. Logically since drugs increase the presence of neurotransmitters, this mechanism is much more intense and 'learning' is highly increased with certain drugs. You can call this 'extreme memory' as well.
So addiction is something an addict has learned by experiencing and will maintain by remembering the experience. *
One medication that has shown promise in breaking associations, even in humans, is D-CycloserineSo a medicine that breaks associations will likely break addiction. It may be interesting to review Ibogaine in this respect.
* I've put this in bold because it has many important implications for drug users. Especially those coping with addiction.
But also for those who think that drug effects are something that have few effects beyond the duration of the drug. If my thesis is correct and learning is intensified during the use of certain drugs, then the actions of the drug user during the drug effects have a much deeper imprint on the character of the user itself; since events that would normally cause a low level of 'learning'/ rapid firing sequences will have an intense level of learning.
Please share your thoughts about my thesis. Please add more drug dream experiences.
