Hi, Has anyone tried Zopiclone as a sleep agent? I was just provided it to me and was told there was no side effects or physical dependency on it by my doctor. If anyone has tried it, could you let me know what you think of it. Thanks
This drug works well. The only thing is that I got a terrible taste in my mouth all through the next day. Everthing tasted very bitter. If you don't get this side effect, it might work well for you.
It works good as it is supposed to, got given it on script when I broke my leg to get to sleep. As Davidd said it does give you a horrible bitter metalic taste in you mouth the next morning which is not nice at all.

Zopiclone could cause mild to moderate withdrawal signs. Addiction-prone individuals, such as drug addicts and alcoholics, should be under careful surveillance when receiving zopiclone because of the prediposition of such patients to habituation and dependence.
I personally have not used the medication but the above paragraph is just about all that I know about it. Go to www.mentalhealth.com (http://www.mentalhealth.com). Theres a ton of info about that drug on that site.
Hope this helps.

I had zopiclone. It worked fine. No side effects except for if you force yourself to stay up which is hard you won't remember things very clearly the next day. I took 15mg of it and when I got up to my room I seriously FELL onto my bed like a rock lol and fell asleep instantly.
I have heard Ambien is alot better as far as hallucinations and weird thoughts go but its not available here in Canada :(. If only I could buy some somehow!.
send these guys an email and request a price quote for zolpidem - the generic version of ambien. I think they have it faily cheep. http://www.farmakos.com/english.htm

SWIM has been prescribed with daily use of Zopiclone for 18 months (15mgs). It's make up is similar to benzos and withdrawal & dependence do occur. SWIM seems to enjoy her Zopiclone more than her party drugs at the mo, and it's gotta be good to win the spot "Drug of Choice" ahead of the usual assortment, so yeah they are very addictive....

18 months? who's your doctor?!? This stuff causes dependence - they
aren't supposed do be doing that (not that I really care either way http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)
Zopiclone is a bizzare med to take recreationally. At the recommended
dose if you decide not to go to sleep, you will experience a mild
"drunkenness". At twice the recommended dose, you may have coordination
problems and memory loss if you stay awake.
I was diagnosed with a sleeping problem a few years ago and had to use
Zopiclone to sleep. Being the curious bastard I was I experimented with
different amounts of it to see its effects. One night I decided I would
try and take three zopiclone pills (after working my way up partially
.. 1 pill, 1.5 pills etc daily)
The next evening when I woke, I discovered my entire house trashed and
my zopiclone bottle empty (which had 16 remaining pills) I had, it
appeared, taken - or perhaps disposed of , the remaining pills and
trashed my house. I had no memory. Weird things were placed in weird
spots. Clothing was strewn all over the common areas (I live with
roomates)
If one were to pursue this recreational, I would recommend staying
close to the prescribed dosage; who knows who you may become at higher
doses.

Hey Dualpower,
SWIM can realate to you taking more pills while you are still wasted on the first. If swim stays up she has no control over taking more pills. The following day swim starts to worry about what she can say to her Dr to explain it cause she definately does not want xr cancelled.
Because SWIM also smokes Crystal Meth she often misses a nights sleep, which means the nights SWIM does sleep she can take more than the prescribed dose. The most she has taken in one night is 6, but only 3 intentionally (the rest were taken later in the night when swim thought the first ones weren't working!)
SWIM is also prescribed with Klonapin and drinks GHB. Those 3 together put you out like a light bulb - which probably sounds nuts, {children: don't try this at home} but is totally normal practise for swim. She's not trying to kill herself, but I bet if swim didn't wake up it would be suspected suicide.

I'm not a pharmacist, but that sounds really dangerous Laura!
All three of those meds you're combining for sleep have depressant qualities (esp GHB).
I wish I knew more so I could say something more authoritative on the
subject, but I don't. Probably no one in the medical establishment
would either. I would be interested in hearing exactly what kind of
combos and effects you have though .. pm me if you feel like talking
about this
cheers!

Hi guys, I have been taking Zopiclone for about 3 weeks now. I started out taking 1 tablet(7.5mg) before bed and it worked great. Within 35 min of taking the pill I wouldbe out likea light. I didnt even realize I was falling a sleep. Since it worked so well and I was worried about getting addicted to it I decided to lower my dosage to half a tablet. This still worked but I found that I would wake up a few hours later. So I started back to taking the full tablet. Now, I find that its not working anymore. This last week I am taking one, and then a second pill 2 hours later. I new that there is tolerance with this drug, but didnt realize it would build so fast. I was wondering if taking it with a few drinks would increase its effectiveness. Does any one know? Hey Dual Power, thats a crazy story, but I can see it happening. I took 2 and half last night and I felt like I was a zombie. I can see in high doses how this could erase your memory. As a last note, you know what really makes me mad. I had read up on Zopiclone before going to my doctor, so I knew about the side effects and tolerance that can occur before hand. I asked my doctor as he prescribed it if this was drug was addictive in any way. He told me that it was not and that other than the metalic taste there are no side effects. I swear it was like he was being paid by the drug companies to sell this stuff. Im glad I dont have an addictive personality because if I did I could see how this could get out of hand.

Sleeping meds like zopiclone are only ever supposed to be used
temporarily. No sleep med will work indefinitely at a level dose. If
you find you can't sleep as well of them any more, or it takes
substantially more for the same effect, your doctor will probably
switch you over to something new.
From a zopiclone monograph:
"Treatment with zopiclone
should usually not exceed 7 to 10 consecutive days. Use for more than 2
to 3 consecutive weeks requires complete re-evaluation of the patient.
Prescriptions for zopiclone should be written for short-term use (7 to
10 days) and it should not be prescribed in quantities exceeding a
1-month supply. "
The monograph also says never to exceed the 7.5mg dosage. Well .. who knows..

I have seen someone take (36) 7.5mg Imovane (zopiclone) tabs as a suicide attempt... we showed up about T+4:00 and the person was unable to move or speak coherently... the effects were only slightly stronger than when I take (2) 7.5mg tabs, so I believe there is a very limited potential for recreational use...
I used to have like 10 ambien pills that where 10mg each the most I took in one night was 40mgs and I couldn't remmember what happened at the end of the night, did stuff I don't remmember. Anyways at lower doses I found this pill the funniest pill I've ever taken. I really want to get some more. How easy is ambien to get a hold of? If I tried to get a prescription as a sleep aid simply telling my doctor I have troouble sleeping etc. (which I do and even my parents would tell him I do.) Do you think I could get a prescription? I wouldn't beg him or even ask him for drugs just tell him my problem and hope he prescribes? Or shoudl I try an online pharmacy?
