SWIM needs to know the LD50 of lorazepam. Any other information on lorazepam overdoses (ex. chance of death, signs of overdose, etc. )would be greatly appreciated. SWIM has been searching the net for this information and has been unable to find it. Thanks.

Sorry to post again, but SWIM needs to know ASAP. He won't get into the details, but he may need to get his friend some help quickly here.

911. The LD50 of benzodiazepines is quite high - well over the quantity of most prescriptions. UNLESS mixed with other CNS depressants, including - especially - alcohol.
If you suspect an overdose, regardless of potential lack of possible death ensuing, get the person medical attention ASAP. Don't get on the internet for help! 911.

SWIM has received a phone call from a friend who needed some medical advice in regards to this question, but he's still worried. He's going to drive over there right now.
Swia would assume OD from benzo would be same as opiates via respiratory depression might have a different mechanism of doing it thou. She knows benzos work on the GABA receptors.

SWIM just thought he would post an update. His friend was fine; it wasn't what SWIM thought it was. Once again, SWIM won't get into the details, but everything was fine.
