i wake up at 6 am for work, drink a full pot of coffee, i than drink coffee and 6-8 cokes throughout the day just to keep energized..i than go home, and have a few beers, and when it starts getting dark, a few turns into many, and i drink myself to sleep, because it's the only thing i can do to fall asleep, and it fixes the emptyness i feel inside me..i pass out around 1-3 am...and wake up at 6, and do it all over again..

It sure sounds like you are depressed.

Paradoxically, alcohol interferes with good sleep. The three hours you are getting a night are not enough for good health. Physical exhaustion only adds to your feelings of emptiness.

Lots of people use stimulants (e.g. coffee) in the A.M. and have a drink in the evening. But the degree is everything.

Do you have a personal physician? Tell him/her that you can't sleep and that you have those empty feelings. I think you are a likely candidate for anti-depressants; they change many, many lives for the better.

Do you have any religious orientation? Opportunity to meet people and enjoy a relationship? These non-pharmaceutical things are ingredients in many happy people's lives.
