yes we talk about alot a few movies but i think we should mention fight club to me that was one of the best movies cause it really had a meaning about life and goals and how most of us are doing things that are far from are real dreams also that life is to short to be stuck on material things

How is that? What does fightclub teach us about life? I dont see it as being any more than a fun movie. Yes, okej, it tells us life is to short to do things you dont want to. This message is not original.

Fight Club just annoyed me. The character subterfuge does not amount to aclever ending in my opinion. In a thriller, at least let me try to work it out on my own steam. It had more style than substance.

I loved fightclub, i know exactely what white means.. It shows exactely how people are told what they should work for in life, they forget and look passed all the little things or primal things that would make htem feel good.

i saw lots of fantastic stuff in it. it was very cathartic for me. a bit later i got into buddhism and i am now into visualisation and energy work, too. and i still have to shudder when i hear the dust brothers bonus track where you get all of tyler durdens best quotes put together, and it starts off with a sample that goes something like "a white ball of healing light" in the face of all the miseries in the world and then tyler's voice cuts through that with a VERY powerful "I DON'T THINK SO". Some years after, now, I must say, I actually DO think so, although it means believeing in yourself and not your guru. And that is a lesson Tyler teaches, actually.

Anway, I think it's a fantastic film with heaps of educational and recreational value, can be watched on many levels.

So much of wat Tyler has to say is very very insightful and would help almong the world if only everyone got it (imho).

and chuck palahniuk's books are all fantastic, by the way. if you liked fight club you might enjoy he book too, and other books by the same author.

When I saw fightclub I saw it with a friend. He is an ex anarchist.. he
said fightclub is thourough anarchist ideology (sorry for my english)..
the film is full of anarchist poems, songs, quotes, ideology etc etc..

Fight club is an amazing movie, however i must say that the book is far better. like most books turned movies, they leave a few little details out. Also if you liked fight club, read more of Chuck palahniuk's Novels. I am reading one, Invisible monsters, and it makes fight club seem "like a leisurely Buggy ride"


Also the book Lulaby, Holy shit that one is so weird i cnat even begin to describe it. for those of you who like to read crazy shit check out some of those novels

Fight Club is a great movie because it fucks with your expectations, and to some extent your concept of reality.



It also provokes a major emotional response with people who don't </span>like it, which is the signature of all great movies.



Any of you guys who like films that screw with your head should check out the movies of Holywood Screenwriter Charlie Kauffman.



Whatever your favourite method of getting high, do it and watch some of his movies like Being John Malkovich, Adaptatation, </span>or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. </span>You won't be disappointed.

Being Jhon Malkovich is a great movie.

I didn't really "love" adaptation, but it was allright.



Another movie maker that shouldn't be ignored is Kubric, specially the
Clockwork Orange, and Full Metal Jacket, the rest of his stuff didn't
really shock me; though it was very good, just not as shocking.

Fight Club is one of my favourite movies of all time and Chuck Palahniuks books are great. I recommend reading "Choke" to everybody.

Definetly a great movie, one of my all time favourites. Although I only
read a crappy Dutch translation I have to say that this is one of those
rare cases in which the movie is just as good, if not better, as the
book. Fincher shot quite a few scenes that really suprised me in a
positive way.

I don't agree that Chuck Palahniuk is indeed an
anarchist nor a nihilist. i think his book can be
interpreted as a double edged sword. One of
underlying hope for humanity or one of abysmal
realisation.

Yes, you're sensationalised in Fight Club, they play
with your senses, they play with your judgement, they
play with your perception of the world and they play
with your secret desire for destruction and change.

However, for one to truly to understand the illusion
behind the illusion, you have to see the optimism
behind the bleak-noir. The space monkeys are
hypocritical and fall victim to their own rebellion. "He
who fights with monsters lest he thereby become a
monster". Basically, in life you're conditioned to
adhere to the values of society and you rarely
question the nature on why those values are in
place. If anything, i believe the book is outlining the
impossibility of being free until death. And that free
will is an illusion of conciousness, which is as much
determined as how society treats its members.
We're indoctrinated from birth on how we should live,
this book is a metaphorical rebellion against
established rules and the importance of the
individuals fight for the right to exist and do as he
pleases. In a modern world where are primal instinct
to survive and live as we choose are being castrated
today into the hive collective that is the world of
government and business.

When i saw that movie i was messed up so the whole thing was awesome (though i didnt get some of it due to the drugs) so i watchd it again in the morning and i was changed from then on. i do not exactly have an active anarchist or nihilist life stlye though i am not opposed to them and in fact support them so this moviee, in that asspect, was awesome. not to mention the countless ways of ingenius twists that the movie shows a man (at first) living a life that most main stream american people do. all who have fallen victim to americas expectations to be that person should see this movie. in another aspect i see that the things in this movie are totally obtainable. i my self (given more suitable materials and accses) would be interested in starting a (if not many) fight clubs
