If you don't know what a bar is, my suggestion is not to eat a whole one: The last kid I knew who asked: "What is a BAR?" didn't wake up for 16 hours or so.

snorting xannie bars does nothing except let it drip down the back of your throught and into your stomach since alprazolam is not water soluble. just swallow it or chew em up.
Xanax is pretty intense if you havent done it before and its easy as all hell to get hooked on. at one point i was taking 10-15 bars a day, so be careful man. if you have any more q's about xannies feel free to PM me, i have had quite the experience with xanax.

Those r my favorite pill..they mess me up pretty good...i agree be careful i know someone who got addicted to them, and than overdosed on them and died....i call them mind erasers though...they make me forget stuff that happens when i take them...like the next day ill wake up and not remember everything

I've never heard of a xanax wafer, is this new? I've had the yellow bars, they didnt seem too much stronger to me. But i didnt take it by itself so hard to tell. I think they're yellow because of the company that makes them, but they are 2mg. -K

i've heard of the 4mg xanax as well from quite a few people i think they are new. yea alprazolam is generic xanax i think..i would take 1mg to start out maybe 1.5

My family doctor told me of one of his patients who took 8 mg of xanax a
day for years. He said that the guy was incapable of fealing anything

What do you mean? He took 8 mg a day and then stopped and now can't feel anything? I don't get it. The only way 8 mg a day could be harmful is if you did it for years then suddenly stopped.

What I ment was that 8 mg a day made him so zoned out that he had little
or no emotional response to anything. The doc said that when he tried to
cut down, he began to have emotional feelings about things and became
very uncomfortable and refused any further reduction of the drug. Sounds
like he was a bit like a zombie to me.

This is only for very severe cases and only for very short periods of time. Otherwise a standard dose of Xanax is about .25 to .5 mgs.
so i stop on the south with my friends today and we arent 21 so hes like lets just eat some bars and just chill and watch moveis..
pills make me nervous for some reason so i bought 3 for XXX dollars. i was scared so i just took half of one. and just swallowed it. i felt just really tired and couldnt even walk.
the next day i took another one before school and i noticed i dont get all stumbly and act messed up like my friends. i dont even know why there called downers because they make me feel good about myself.
normally in public i dont talk much, and i have social anxiety. so for the past 2 days ive tooken bars at school and ive done most of my work i listen to the teacher and actually sociallize alot more and they make me feel alot better about myself.
but i find these things highly addicting. can i die off these things? would two a day make me over dose? i was also thinking maybe i do need to goto the doctor and tell him i took them and how they make me feel. i try to talk to my friends about these things but they dont listen to me. the way i usually feel about myself is i just walk around and everyones constantly talking about me and im nervous about what people think about me. but as far as i knowim going to keep doing them.

benzo can be used to treat anxiety. it's possible that your quite and reserved at school because you have social anxiety disorder. and by taking a small dose of xanax, it's helped you with that. your friends are probly acting messed up because they are taking much more than you, and i'd bet they were drinking on them. dieing from xanax is highly unlikely. you can od if you take a whole bottle but it'd be rare to die from xanax alone. two bars a day is a lot, you can become easily addicted to benzos and your tolerance will go up. if you want to keep using them just to feel more at ease during the day, keep your dose small. i'd say no more than 1/2 a bar. you should start with just .25mgs though and go from there. if you do feel comfortable talking to a doctor about it though i think that would be a really good idea. your doctor will probly tell you which benzo is best for you, and start you on a small dose.
is there anything in them that make you try harder in school. everyday before school ill chew one up and goto class and i actually listen and do my work. my friends also tell me they like me alot more when im on bars. the only thing im worried about is frying my brain and not even be able to move around if you know what im saying.

It is very dangerous to self medicate with Xanax to treat a self diagnosed condition.
Xanax is recomended for only 30 days use in the treatment of Panic Disorder. It is commonly prescribed off label for other anxiety disorders and to help people through especially traumatic times. Xanax is used as a temporary treatment. A doctor will prescribe Xanax until he can find a better medication.
People build a tolerance to Xanax very fast, especially at higher doses. If you continue using Xanax to treat your condition in a few months time you will probably need several bars just to feel its effects. The withdrawl symptoms of Xanax are very dangerous and can be deadly. It also causes rebound anxiety meaning that when you skip your dose you feel very anxious.
Xanax lasts at most 4 hours. If you are desprate for a benzodiazepin look for a longer acting one like Klonopin (which lasts 12 hours). Xanax is used to treat social anxiety disorder only when it borders on agoraphobia (a crippling fear of being in a public place).
From what you probably do have some type of anxiety disorder. However only a doctor can diagnose social anxiety disorder. Depending on the degree of the social anxiety disorder different medications are appropriate. If you go to a doctor and he finds that you have social anxiety disorder you may get prescribed a Tri-Cyclic antidepressant (e.g. BuSpar), a SSRI (e.g. Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac), or a benzodiazepin (e.g. Ativan or Klonopin).
You should probably see a doctor. First of all you will save money because insurance will pay for your prescription. A doctor will also determine the degree of your social anxiety disorder (if you have it) and will prescribe the medication that will help the most. It is important that you recognize the doctor's ability to help you.
If you insist on self medicating you need to switch to a longer acting benzodiazepin. The safest and most effective probably would be .5mg of Klonopin to be taken in the morning.
If you go to see a doctor don't tell him that you have been self medicating. He will be very hesitant to prescribe you any benzodiazepines. If you insists on taking a benzodiazepine saying something like "I have a friend who takes Klonopin and it seems to work well for him".
Please keep us/me updated on what is going on.

I spent the time to retype this because I don't want you ending up addicting to Xanax (which will happen if you self medicate with it).

That's because you were taking it for sleeping. When you take it for anxiety it loses it's calming effect quickly. Its like Adderall. The first two to four weeks are great but then it loses it's effect and you need to increase the dosage for it to feel the same way.
Ive got a bottle of generic Xanax 2mg bars. First time i took half a bar and only felt a little sleepy. So about two hours later i took a whole 2mg bar. Waited a few hours and only felt tired. Ended up sleeping like 17 hours, but other than that nothing. What are the effects suppose to be with taking Xanax and why do people abuse it? I know its for anxiety but whats the recreational use, any reason why it did nothing for me?

Whenever I used to see people on bars I would immediately think that

Yeah, I took half a pill before work today, felt a little loopy most of the day, was in a good mood. Also helped a lot with anxiety, I think I will most likely just take it as directed instead of recreationally.

The costs depends on where/how you get them. If you buy them on the street they probably cost $1-2 a bar, but if you are buying them from some kid at your college or highschool who has a prescription for them they will probably want $2-6 a bar. The effects of a Xanax bar (when used recreationally) last about 2 hours.
However, Xanax is pretty easy to get a prescription for (compared to painkillers). If you go to a doctor tell him that you have been having problems sleeping from time to time, and you were wonding what you should do. If he starts talking about medication tell him that you had a girlfriend or something that took Xanax to help her sleep from time to time and it worked well with her. However, the doctor will probably only prescribe you 1 mg. He might want to prescribe something else, like Ambien, which is way better of a recreational drug. It makes you feel like you are dreaming when you are awake and it gives you amnesia of what happened while you were on it.
Since Xanax is a fast acting benzodiazepine it dosn't stay in your system to long. Check the Drug Test forums, they have on one of the Sticky posts some info about how long certain drugs stay in your system. The white xanax bars are often called Wagon Wheels due to the fact they are like 4 xanax bars, they are not new just hard to find. I was lucky enough to have an aunt thats prescribed to them and she sells them to me for 3$ a pop and i can sell them for 8$ easy so they are the shit. Take one and be prepared to not remember a muther fucking thing...

First of all there is no such thing as a 4mg xanax. The highest they go are 2mg in the instant release form and 3mg in the extended release form. The xanax bars are all the same. White and yellow both have only 2mg of alprazolam. If anyone says that they think the yellow ones are stronger then they are either lying orexperiencing a psychosomatic reaction.
Im sure you have already tried them by now Savage but I dont really get tired anymore after taking them for a week. Im talking about a 2mg bar, it makes me kinda sleepy but nothing much. However a few days ago I took 2 2mg bars within an hour, sat around on the computer for about an hour then went downstairs. Was watching TV at 5:30, next thing I know its 8:30, I dont remember feeling tired, I dont even remember closing my eyes, i just passed out, was kinda freaky.

SWIM was told that the yellow bars were five times the strength of the
standard white ones, but SWIM doesn't know this to be the case.
Anyway, SWIM woke up the next morning not remembering anything after
dosing. Friends at the graduation party related many stories of SWIM
and said he seemed very drunk.
Friends of mine who used to play around with xanax said they had
trouble remembering weeks of their lives because of these things.
I recommend against taking them, but, either way, be careful!

xanax is strong. my first time ever was just a 2mg bar and 2 beers and
i was pretty out of it. start out small to get an idea of the effects
and work your way up in my opinion
Wow Tavs, can't believe you didn't pass out on the first half. Most people I know can't stay awake on a half. You do wanna take it easy with the recreational use though and not get your tolerance to high. Coming off these can be rough, I knew someone taking 5-6 a day and when they couldn't get anymore went into siezures, got very anxious and paranoid, sounds scary.
Also watch out for those blackouts, I had the same problem. I would forget everything and be in a bit of a daze. If I took 3 I'd forget the whole night, especially when drinking. Might want to try writing things down more often. Also they give me a major case of munchies so I'll usually wake up with a few snacks around me. My sense of touch felt diffrent also as if everything were very soft. Great pill, watch out for that tolerance. For regular use I used to break them into pieces and have a whole if I had a stressful episode.Edited by: X-Dream

The highest Xanax the current PDR shows is a 3mg extend release the is round W/ a 3 on one side and as X on the other. So the 4mg you may be getting must be coming from outside the U.S. or you my me a little confused on the mg or type so be careful don't buy bunk. Of course I'm no pharmacist. Latter!!!

I have been debating with someone about the difference between yellow
and white xanax bars. I know the white ones are 2mg and I thought
the yellow were 1mg but some people have told me they are 2mg as
well. Everyone seems to claim the yellow are better also.
Are they the same just made by different companies?
I can't find yellow ones, any of these look similar?

If they say Xanax on them then they can't be from a different manufacturer. What numbers/writing are on the pills?
Yellow Alpazolam(Xanax) Tabs are generaic Xanax. They are 2 mg, just like the white bars, I don't find any diffrence between brand name and generaic meds.

I can say also that they come generic white and yellow,and all bar shaped xanax is 2mg. Also be careful, there are a lot of other bar shaped pills that people will often mistake for xanax.

theres a big difference IMO. the best xanax are made by pfizer, then greenstone, lily and geneva, in that order. they all work. genevas seem to have a totally different feel about them. dont know if its sloppy synthesis or what.

SWIM has taken bars probably about a dozen times and it sort of off of them now. SWIM realizes they're fun while you're on them but the next day he is so disoriented and can't remember anything. The question is: Why is Xanax manufactured at such a high dose? I can't see how anyone could take that much Xanax and still be able to function. Do regular users of the drug build up a tolerance fast and need a dose that large to feel an effect?

First off, bars are split into four 1/2mg pieces so that any typical dose can be taken. They can cost much less per mg than .5mg or 1mg tablets for people for whom the insurance company is not picking up the bill. And secondly, yes - some people with a legitimate need for benzodiazepenes take very high doses (under a doctor's direction) as their condition and tolerance require.
Whats the diff from white and yellow bars?

none except the yellow are either generics or imports, swim forgets which. but potency-wise both the white and yellow bars are 2 mg, and are both as effective.

SWIM has heard of the yellow ones, also referred to as "school buses", for for as much as XXX a piece. Whereas, the "regular" white bars go for XXX
Its a crazy world out there... And people claim to be more fucked up off the yellow ones... Its not even worth the time telling them they are the same.

Swim was told that one side of the bar is stronger then the other. Is this true? SWIM doubts its,but wanted to confirm. Also how long do you have to be on Benzo's before you can have fatal withdrawls?

One side of a bar isn't stronger than the other. There are a few different MG ranges that a Xanax can be, though. Ranging from .5MG to 2MG and if you can find the triangular pills with an italicized X on them they are 3MG.
Withdrawal off of Benzo's is one of the most unpleasant and dangerous of any drug. SWIY can develop a massive tolerance quickly and become addicted quickly.
A friend of SWIM's had a seizure a few weeks back. He was taking four to five 2MG Xanax at a time probably twice a day. He stopped taking them when he couldn't find them for a day and had a seizure.
SWIY needs to be careful with benzo's.

swim can confirm through his lab rats that addiction to the point that withdrawal can occur will happen after at least a couple months of daily use of the drug.
however, it could conceivably happen at less, swim just doesnt know. he has taken them daily for about a week before, and suffered no withdrawal. but he is guessing even a couple weeks of daily use could lead to some withdrawal anxiety, if not fullblown seizures.
Physical dependance to benzos can occur with daily use for as little as 2 weeks.

SWIM took self-prescribed Xanax for about 1.5 years. One-third of that time was spent tapering, and it was not pleasant.
Now, if SWIM takes Xanax for more than 2 days in a row, he gets mild withdrawal symptoms (rebound anxiety). Also unpleasant.
Use Xanax carefully, it's a dangerous drug to treat lightly.

yellow bars are purepac 2 mg, the above posted picture is 1 mg. round mylan pills cross cut are 2 mg. white bars with no slants are geneva 2 mg. white bars with slanted backs are greenstone 2 mg. most 1 mg pills are blue.
