Swim thought of a way to possibly test the viability of nasal administration of codeine. Swim has recently been putting cocaine into water and using the spray bottle method for administration with great succes. So swim thought.. hrmm instead of evaporating the contents of ones cwe why not just put the contents into a nasal spray bottle. Swim attempted & posted a report in the cocaine section... however it was not really valid due to the low codeine / high cocaine ratio of the mix. So if swiy wants to take this any further .. swim would love to hear of other reports. Positive results would be fantastic but even enough negative reports would at least rule out this method as a viable one.

Subutex is NOTHING like codeine. Codeine is soluble in water so in theory it would work, but one would have to evaporate a LOT of water off since boiling it would damage the codeine and make the solution unusable. SWIM seems to remember hearing though that nasal administration of codeine can irritate the nose...and beyond that, insufflating codeine would make it less effective. Heres why:

Codeine MUST go through the liver to be converted to morphine before it will go into the brain and work. Snorting it bypasses the first pass through the liver needed to create this morphine. The circulating codeine would probably not make it into the brain, thus making this method unadvisable.
