....its the amount of Codeine in the pill, none of them are worthy of abuse unless a CWE is preformed... swim believes tylonal 3 has 30mg, 4 has 60 Swim believes, for exact numbers look it up on RXlist.com

Umm, tylenol is a deadly poison - be very careful when using this evil drug mixed in with safe drugs like hydrocodone. Just a few with booze can kill you slowly and painfully.

Oviously it is possible but highly discouraged by swim, since to get a good dose of codeine one must take a shit load of apap, and therefore not using cwe is incredibly dumb...

Because at therapeutic doses it is an effective reliever or mild to moderate pain in combination with opioids, useful in bringing down fevers without the irritant or blood thinning properties of, say, aspirin or other NSAIDS? Because pain relief preparations are designed to relieve pain, not to be abused?

There is a simple & effective way to clean preparations of unwanted materials - the cold water extraction. Use it & stop wingeing if SWiY want to abuse these preparations safely. Not doing so could well leave SWiY in a world of pain.

Jbmac - how exactly are opiates 'safer' than paracetomol, or whatever that weird name is for it in the States?

Both have the potential to be fatal in overdose. Gram for gram it takes less opiate than paracetomol to achieve a toxic/fatal dose - anywhere above 8 grams for paracetomol (if already compromised in the liver or kidney area), compared to as little as 240 mg for potential circulatory collapse & respiratory paralysis with codeine. Paracetomol has no abuse or addiction potential. No one has ever had an accident or endangered someone elses life due to the desired effects of taking paracetomol, whereas opioids can cause drowsiness, confusion, euphoria, & are generally not recommended for using heavy machinery or anything else that requires rapid reflexes or a sharp mind.

Edit: Forgot to actually answer the original question in the middle of all that!

Tylenol #2 = 15mg codeine/300mg paracetomol

Tylenol #3 = 30/300

Tylenol #4 = 60/300

You also forgot Tylenol #1 (with Codeine), so I will add it for you:

Tylenol #1 (with Codeine) = 8mg Codeine/300mg Acetaminophen (Tylenol)

:)

Taa! Couldn't actually find it listed or mentioned anywhere, & did wonder, but makes sense!

Well let's see - for pain control, 4-6 vicodins would work but give you a lot of tyenol, do it every 4 hours and you have either stressed or damaged your liver. Leave out the Tylenol, and you just control pain. For recreation - those folks don't read labels - same dose to get high, plus alcohol = permanent liver damage. Take out the tyenol and no liver damage. Pretty simple for me. The prevent abuse hysteria makes a powerful pain killer very dangerous - the opposite of harm reduction.

Also, I googled Cold Water Extraction and found a remarkably simple way - dissolve vidoden or other tablets in a small amount of hot water - not boiling, then cool it very cold and filter it - and that takes out most or all of the tylenol poison - has anyone tried this in real life?

LOL yes that is a cold water extraction but hot water isn't necessary, and if its too hot it can damage the opiates, so one would be best off using luke warm or just room temp water... anything warmer is not necessary.
