How old is too old ?

So, if your a young person, how old do you think you will be when you stop taking drugs? Do you think you will ever stop?

i think I will drink till I die but in respectable amounts. I plan to quit smoking and as far as hard drugs I have already stopped because in order to hold a respectable job ect, I needed to stop.

i'll smoke grass probaly forever, not in the amounts i do today, but just casually. as for the others- i'll probaly taper down.

Ill do most things I do now 4ever. I just will do things in moderation. Ill drink coffe 4ever, smoke hasj 4ever, smoke cigs 4ever, drink scotch 4ever and one thing Im planning on increasing the amount of doing as I age is fuck. Sex is great and Ill be fuckin till I die, even if I will have 2 pay.

I think i will quit all drugs except cigerattes when im around 20. I will still drink once and a while though.

I will smoke weed daily for the rest of my life. I already have stopped doing amphetimines mostly (have only done it 3 times in the last 3 years, was a daily thing for many years)


I will do spiritual drugs like acid, 2c-e, shrooms, etc occasionally throughout my life.... as i find guidence in them.

I dont know when i will stop useing drugs but right now i can see myself smoking weed dayly for quite some time. but ill quit when i quit and if i dont then i wont.

You have to listen to your body, and respect what it's telling you.



If weed is not hitting you right, it's time to stop, or at least slow down. That goes for any other drug.



Pay attention to your come-on, your ride, and your come-down. If you experience residual affects, back down until they pass.

Me and my friends were REAL potheads! We'd consume like6-8 heavy joints in a day, every day! But now, most of my friends are quiting or lowering their intake. I've seen this happen with more than one pothead. I don't knwo the reason, but there will come a time that you become less interested in being stoned troughout the day...


I believe that some of my friends will continue smoking spliffs be it on a much lower level. Some others will stop completely and some will remain potheads.


For the other drugs: some will stop completely with experimenting and other make it a long life habit...

Completly stop will never happen I think, already now me and my friends are saying: when we're older we'll meet eachother again and take a small amount of drugs, to have the feeling like in the old days, not often though but I'm sure it will happen.

I have said good bye to uppers and opiates already but I don't ever see myself quitting hallucinogens and pot. Pot is just too relaxing for me and I would love to quit smoking cigarettes and just have a joint once in a while. I will always use hallucinogens because there's so many places where you can develop wonderful spiritual experiences. I enjoy the guidance, the mind-opening experience, and of course the visuals.


There is no "too old" when it comes to using drugs. It's all subjective. I personally believe no one over 60 should use drugs (except pot for glaucoma patients heh) but really its up to their own person. My boyfriend shot heroin until he was 53, I've known many people who did drugs well into their 50s/60s. Many of them had addictions and only stopped using to get their life together (some might say too late, but better too late than never).

I was a huge pot head for about a year, but I've since given it up completely. I drink every weekend and I take ecstasy once every other month or so. I'll quit x when I graduate college probably, and I'll never stop drinking.

SWiM will probably never stop taking psychedelics. He will probably not stop taking amphetamines, cannabis and other drugs either in the future, but he will cut down on the partying with hard drugs. He already has. Maybe in 4-5 years he will have stopped using most drugs, but psychedelics and cannabis he will never give up. XTC is a tough one, he really loves it but suspects it's not very healthy in the long run.

Update: SWiM has not touched MDMA in a very long time now, he doesn't miss it either. Some day though....

I will smoke grass untill the day I die, I actaully can't wait until im old because I see old people smoking tobacco pipes everyday around here, while walking down the street, driving, whatever and cops don't hassle them at all. I will be the old man smoking grass from a tobac pipebut the police don't want to hassle me because im old. Cops just don't like hassling the elders. I'd jsut say its the only thing that can ease my clocoma and my horrible arthritis pains, you really think they'd give me a 85 yr old man possession?

hmm..i've quit smoking except in drinking/social occassasions, i'm doing my best to stop drinking...but i'm hoplessley addicted, so it's tough..i only smoke weed very sparingly...i will probably do psycadelics for a long time though..

ill never quit, ill just slow down, but i know guys and gals in there fifties who can hang with me all weekend and then get up and go work when im still sleepin and feeling like shit.
