adderall and gastro problems?

i woke up this morning and took some antacids (tums) and then about 5 mins later swallowed 2 whole 20 mg adderall XR's all on an empty stomach for studying purposes. about 40 mins later, without getting too graphic, i have an enormous ammount of diarrhea every 10-15 minutes or so. is this caused by the adderall or maybe the antacids? and my biggest concern is, is all the diarrhea causing me to expel some of the amphetamine without it being absorbed? im not sure if thats possible, but im beginning to think so because 2 20 mg xr's don't even really get me stimulated, although i might have a high tolerance. all your info is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Well, personally I really wouldn't be concerned about the adderall if I'm on the can every 10 mins, but to each his own I geuss.

I couldn't find any resources that would support the claim that Tums interacts with Adderall.

Diarrhea and other gastro-intestinal sickness is a symptom of amphetamine overdose, but I don't think 40mg's is enough for that sorta problem.

Assuming the reason why you took the Tums was because you had a stomache ache, your diarrhea probably has something to do with the stomach ache, and not the Adderall. If your diarrhea doesn't subside within a few days, you might want to talk to your doctor.

thanks for the reply jardo, the reason i took the tums is because baking soda and antacids are supposed to potentiate the effects of amphetamines. but im not sure if them interacting with eachother caused the diarrhea. next time ill just take the 40 mg's on an empty stomach w/o the antacids and see what happens.

Go get yourself imodium, swim gets the same problem. Swim doesnt mind shitting everyonce and a while while on adderall but its hard to do work if ur constantly dripping brown water out of your ass.

As someone who is perscribed adderall at 40-50mg a day, i have found this same problem (although more prevelant with concerta for some reason). Go to the store and get some calcium pills if imodium doesnt work.
