Question about opiate withdrawls..
Hey all.
Ive been through withdrawls too many times to name, but a while ago I got back onto the H. I got off of it last week, trying to use xanax to combat withdrawls (it works a little, but I have no money right now and cant get those OR cigs so I feel pretty shitty right now). I know all about withdrawls, but every other time Ive quit its either been cold turkey off of H (usually in jail) or suboxone (I got back on H 2 weeks later, actually). This time is different, I suffered through the withdrawls for a couple days, then I came home and my sister gave me some purple. I felt shitty and it was a spur-of-the-moment thing, so I drank 2 oz. It didnt do much, but I think it might have prolonged my withdrawls...this is my question, because since then, I took 7 5mg hydro's on sunday, and yesterday I drank another 2 oz. of lean and did a tiny shot of H. I cant really tell if im sick or not, because before that my last opiates were on sunday, but is this going to make my withdrawls start over again? Or will it really affect them at all? The doses of opiates I have taken (minus the hydros) have had no effect on me whatsoever, but these withdrawls have seemed to last a little longer than usual. I just want to know what to expecet, will I be feeling sick in a little while or what? Thanks |

Taking more of any drug you are physically addicted to is going to prolong your recovery. However with such small amounts of opiates, especially for a heroin user, it may help ween(sp) you out of the bad withdrawals from the heroin. But eventually you will have to quit all together and will pay the price, however small or large, for continuing opiate use. If you are really serious about quitting then your sister should not be giving you more opiates. If i were you id stop taking all opiates all together and just get through it, youve done it before you know what to expect. The sooner your off the sooner you can get your life back to normal. Either way good luck i wish you all the success in the world.

My guess is even if you do have to go through the first 3 days again, they wont be nearly as bad, because i assume even though your still taking opiates its in a much smaller dose and of weaker variety.

The withdrawal will kick back in, but will just be weaker.
Even after acute withdrawal and fully into post, any opiate you put inside of you will begin to re-wire your brain very fast. Swim recommends some weed to help you through this. May through your mind so far off the withdrawal and let you accept it better. Swim is not sure how old you are, but when swim was 20 he was going through pretty much the same thing. Swim was constantly trying to kick H and would make it 3-5 days, but would always end up trying to do a tiny bit of H to help. This went on for a long time, constant battle. Reason being, the lifestyle was too fresh in swims mind he thinks. Its hard, very hard. Why dont you go back onto a low dose of subs and kick the lifestyle first, once you have done that, easier to kick the opiate itself. Otherwise, just set your mind not to touch an opiate. It can be done. For sure. |
