Possible overdose of methamphetamine - are these symptoms normal?

I have generally avoided using any drugs harder than pot, Eor hallucinogens in the past, but last night I used crystal meth for the first time. A friend had some, and we both snorted about 3 small lines each.


I was fine for awhile. Even after going out to the bar and having 4 beers, I felt fine. But later, another friend came over with some pot. I took a few hits, and then the problems began.


I started feeling minor chest pain, and my heart rate fluctuated between about 80 and over 120 beats per minute. I couldn't get to sleep at all. I first took the meth at about 12 am last night. I had finished my last beer by 2 am, and the weed by 3am.


I am still feeling tightness in my chest, and it is now close to 4 pm, meaning the meth was taken almost 16 hours ago. I still can't get to sleep. I have a fluctuating heart rate, and a slight arrythmia (although I may have always had that).


That was my first time using meth, but I am a pretty healthy 20 year old with no prior heart condition. Is it possible it's partially caused by anxiety, or do you think I'm in serious danger?

you are fine thats the effects of weed and meth. i love the mix dont mind your heart its fine ittle be normal soon. wen i mixed it the meth lasted for like 14 or so hours and the weed lasted the same length. not sure about the mix with beer but i know meth makes you sober up after drinking. maybe you felt sick because of the weed and alcohol mix, i personally hate this mix it makes me really sick in the morning. youll be fine in a day or so dont worry nothing went wrong

It's now been over 21 hours since the incident. My heartrate doesn't fluctuate as much, but I still feel tightness in my chest. No stabbing pains, but plenty of minor ones. I think a lot of that is just anxiety.

it was all part of the high next time ask if your scared about mixing drugs. i personally enjoyed the tweak + weed high but everyone reacts differently and has different preferences ask next time <img border="0" src= "smileys/smiley10.gif">

Yea.... I remember getting all spun and then smoking like a grip of weed and i couldnt even get to bed... But the High was fuggin awesome! Drinking sucks when your spun imo... I would rather just smoke some bud and take some pills lol.

Take a couple of aspirin and drink lots of water.



Stay away from drugs and alcohol for at least several days.



Try to eat lighter foods like fresh soup, fish, and salads. Stay away from foods that will thicken your blood: dairy, red meat, fried foods; canned or packaged foods should also be avoided including snacks & beverages (no sodas, & no candy).



Take one baby-aspirin every night before you go to sleep.



...and (you just know I have to say this) check with your Dr. before doing this

I think it may not agree with your body chemistry. May be a good idea to try another drug. Here whereI come from they put all kinds of stuff in Meth, just to make a buck and they don't care what happens to the people that use it.

ya they do that a lot hollywood. thats why its a good idea to get 1 dealer whos stuff you know is good that way it lessens your risk for getting hurt. and ya with meth there are so many different chemicals you can substitue into it. the wierdest thing ive heard anyone using is pinesol (a floor cleaner)

Dude I had the exact same problem. I smoked weed after meth and my heart started feeling really bad... I thought I might need to call 911. Weed does speed up your heart rate, and it's worse because your heart is already supercharged with meth. (I could count my heartbeats without even checking my pulse since it was beating so hard that I could feel it inside my body.) Afterwards I still felt little pains in my chest but I think you're right that it's mostly anxiety. Still though, I get nervous everytime I do meth and I'm always checking my pulse to see if I'm okay... It really sucks.

hey man i just went through the same thing 20 hours ago.....i was so scarerd to go to sleep i felt like i would die if i did.....im very glad i went through all this.....it really pushed me away from meth/coke completely.... :)

hey guys, first posting, but please help. 2 days ago i completed a 48 hour binge of this crystal stuff, and i gotta tell ya, my body has taken a beating. it was my fourth time (swear) to even TRY the stuff, but i felt invincible, and did things with people i never thought were possible. smoked it, inhaled it. pretty much did a half an 8ball, is that a lot?



2 days later my chest hurts, i have a tingling in my left arm, i can't pee or get an erection and some other things you really don't wanna know. i've got a doctor's appt in about 3 hours, but i had to write 'cause i'm seriously freaking out. is this normal? i've been doing some research and some of this i'm feeling falls under "long-term effects." did i O.D.???

I have done 5 days no sleep just valium and coke.Just think what pleasure you getting after few hours .just money to feel normal

buzz, watt's up? doctor's was ok. thanks for asking. it was scary, don't wanna go through that again. did TONS of tests, everything came back normal. even ekg. lucky.
