SWIM crushed up 3 Tylenol 3's and mixed it with warm water (tap water), cooled down the mixture, then strained it through a coffee filter into a shot glass. SWIM then placed the shot glass in a cupboard. It took about 2 weeks for all the water to evaporate, and during the last week the water started turning a brownish/green colour. By the time all the water had evaporated, SWIM was left with dark brown crystals in the bottom of the shot glass. He scraped it all out with a knife and crushed it up. SWIM now has a light brown/greyish powder that has a sort of rotten smell to it (although the smell isn't as strong as it was when the mixture was still wet). Did SWIM do something wrong, or is it still safe to consume?

For 1, 90 mgs of codeine really isnt alot, SWIM takes closer to a minimum of 250 mg's, usually more like 300-400 depending on his supply. Either way thats not a great way to get powder codeine, I heard before that leaving it in the water too long can ruin the molecule, as for the rotting part of it Im clueless. There is an actual way to get the freebase powder but it involves doing a CWE then playing with solvents and chemicals and all that. From what i remember it wasnt TOO difficult sounding but still not an extremely easy task such as a simple straight up CWE then evaporate.
Also, why did you not just drink the water? Unless your planning to snort of course. And dont follow SWIM's dosage as a guide, i didnt mean to sound like it should be those would be high doses for begginers. Even with that said, the first time SWIM did it and actually felt anything was 120 mg, not very strong at all but something.

SWIM was trying the extraction for the first time and didn't want to lose too many pills if he screwed it up. Yes, SWIM was planning on snorting the powder, and didn't want any acetaminophen in it. SWIM was already eating the pills for pain (he got them for his wisdom teeth), and wanted to try something different; he just didn't know it would take so long for the water to evaporate.

I dont reccoment you try that again, youll most likely end up wasting more. If you feel like it though i would try 4-5 of them extracted in cold water then just drinking the water. That should give you a fairly warm and relaxed feeling.

First time I'd say 90mg's. Second time, if that wasn't strong enough, take another 30mg's. It's fairly forgiving. Just be careful to not over-due it. And especially be careful of the constipation.
By the way, Opium Tea... Excellent. Mmm.

SWIM took 2 and a half T3's last night (all he had left) and then decided to swallow the brown crystals he got from the extraction. SWIM hardly felt anything, so he thinks that the extracted codeine was probably destroyed. Although he could also have a bit of tolerance built up as well from taking so many for his teeth.
And to Bongerman: SWIM knows about the constipation side effect. While he was taking the pills for his wisdom teeth, he was constipated for over a week. Not fun. :(

Okay im left to believe brownish crystals is what is supposed to reamin after a cold water extraction...
I did the same thing with tylenol 3's and came up with brown crystals.. evaporated the water at 80 degrees so i doubt any of it was destroyed to heat..
I believe it is because cornstarch or something is in the pills wich also makes it thru the filteration, i have read this online before.
My favourite way to take this extracted codeine is in capsules... i can get a easy 200 mg in 1 capsule :D

Swim also done the same, CWE about 300mg codeine (but lost a lot with messy flitering- spills ect) Swim then put the extracted solution in a pan and boiled it down to a brown toffee-like substace, then she dissolved it in water and drank it down wiht a tad of elderflower cordial. (yuck!) the heat definately didn't destroy the codeine because swim got a very relaxed feeling :). The pills had caffeine with them so yes that is probably the brown look.
Swim has more recently extracted 10 N+ pills, 128mg (doesnt sound a lot but Swim is female and small build and she can take 10 unextracted and feel good- she normally doesnt bother with CWE thinking it's a waste of codeine and time, and 2g of ibuprofen is not toxic and doesn't give Swim stomach problems).
Anyway, this time Swim was planning to snort, thinking it might be more efficient? So she put the solution in a cup, placed in a pan of boiling water, and a white precipitate (solid) has appeared in the solution. What is it? is it just ibuprofen, or codeine, or i once heard heat turns codeine into freebase codeine? what could it be?

did you change the kind of pill? DId you do the CWE on thos e ?
It has been swim's experience that cwe's made from codeine pills with acetaminophen turns brown in like 3 days in the fridge but, a cwe made from codeine pills with aspirin has yet to turn brown for well over a week (never had one last longer then that without taking it). Anyone else notice this effect?

Swim's uncle's cat's veterinarian noticed that his CWE from Acetaminophen/codeine turned pink after 3 days. No joke. Vey pink.
swim's co-codamol cwe didnt go brown, i added soda crystals to the solution and let it evaporate hoping for freebase codeine. It looked like my avatar, the pic dosnt show just how sparkly it looked and there was still a tiny bit of water to evaporate
Can someone tell swim what freebase codein runs like on foil? swims stuff stayed liquid for ages and didnt set hard straight after you stop heating it like heroin does, makes it awkward to run on the foil

Swiy shoudn't smoke codeine. It will cause a huge histamine release and make his face swell up, make him itchy and could cause pulmonary oedema. Plus, it's a prodrug so it'd still need to go through the liver to become active. Don't shoot, snort or smoke it.

Codeine is available for injection. Rarely prescribed on an outpatient basis, it is available in this form in hospitals. Bongo was given this once in hospital for a terrible migraine.

I shan't call you a liar, but many many many separate individuals have passed "IV'able Codeine" off as a myth...
As you say, obviously rarely used.
Interesting, nevertheless, as SWIM has always thought Codeine just wasn't compatible with intravenous administration. Hmm.
Meh. He'd never have access to it so he may as well carry on crushing up his co-codamol...
