Hey everyone! I'm new to this site, so I'll probably end up posting a topic that "isn't allowed" or something like that. If and when I do, please don't yell at me (when I say yell, I mean using a ton of !!!'s after the words 'you can't post that'.) Also, my pal told me when and how to use SWIM. If I'm using it wrong, let me know.

My first post is a question: speaking from a qualitive point-of-view, how are the effects of meprobamate similar to those of a benzodiazepine (say, alprazolam.) I haven't looked at the pharmacology behind meprobamate extensively, but I'm guessing that it has GABA-agonist properties? I guess I'm not sure where it would bind, considering it's different from the benzodiazepines on a molecular level. Assuming that it does bind to the BZ-receptors means assuming that the qualitive effects are similar.

Anyone with some experience/knowledge? -Casey
