Opinions - using valium (Diazepam) for Anxiety disorders

My mom just gave me 1 valium pill mg??? to see if it helps me with my
anxiety disorder i have. Which is really bad Im nervous all
day the only time im not nervous is when im alone. Im going to the
doctor when I save up enough money. Anyone else use valium for
anxiety's? How helpful was it?

Valium can be good for anxiety - it is considered stronger and somewhat more addictive than lorazepam, though. When you go to a doctor they will probably start you off on Lorazepam before you go on to Valium. That's a sin that you have to save up enough to go to a doctor - There isn't a free clinic around or your mother can't help you out? It just seems like if you have true anxiety which needs medication the longer you go without a doctor is just needless suffering. Take care,

thats how things are in the states, man. i know canada has free health care for everyone. it doesn't make sense to me that private companies can "sell" insurance, and make money on top of it! WTF! thats something everyone needs. if you are a pregnant mom you can get free insurance as well as you can always go to the ER with out insurance but you're bill will be like 10,000$+.

re: the post - i always thought lorazepam was better than valium because its short acting, it gets you high unlike valium really. however in my opinion both should work for anxiety, but everyday use of any benzo can be hazardous in a lot of ways. take the valium and tell your mom it worked very well. that way when you get to a doctor he will know what to write a script for. it sounds like you have generalized anxiety disorder, as opposed to panic attacks the come on every few days or in new situations. just don't use them everyday, you have to learn to cope with society a little bit. and when and if it gets really bad then you can take the benzos.

Yeah I wish my parents would help me too. Im 19 and i live at home and
they make me pay them rent $100.00 a month. I'm going to try to get a
credit card then use it. What sucks is I can't get a grilfriend because
my anxietys are so bad. I want one really bad its my #1 thing on
my To Do List. Anyways heres an update I took the Valium this morning
then I went to Votech. At first I thought I was feeling it just a tiny
bit but I think it was all placebo because it didn't help me very much.
I was still nervous. Maybe the dosage was too low?

Could be - You might need a higher doseage or different benzo. You definitely need a doctor. Good luck

so your mom gave you the valium, huh? dose your mom have any anxiety issues? Is she perscribed the medication? Often anxiety disorders run in familys and are passed on to offspring. If it is her medication and she dose have anxiety issues make sure your doctor knows what med shes on, and let him know how it worked for you. This can provide a good basis for trying diffrent meds.

I take Xanax for my anxiety issues and it helps like no other. Also just having the Xanax in my pocket allows for peace of mind. Sometimes the peace of mind is all I need, its nice to know that you have something to fall back on.

I take Xanax for my anxiety issues and it helps like no other. Also
just having the Xanax in my pocket allows for peace of mind. Sometimes

My mom was put on Valium because of panic attacks that she would get
that we later found out were actually seizures. Although Her parents
were also on medication. My grandma is Bi-polar and is taking ativan
and effexor. My Grandpa had an anxiety disorder and was taking valium
for it. So yeah I guess it does run in the family. Sorry i don't know
what dose the valium was that my mom gave me it was either 2mg or 5mg.

i don't think 2 or 5mg of xanax would evendo anything to anyone, i have only felt non anxious when using at least 10mg on a completely empty stomach and even then it wasn't much.

Cool thats what I thought. I ordered some xanax today off some foreign
pharmacy if it does well then Ill tell my doctor once I get some cash.
What would you say would be a better benzo. for anxiety Valium or
Xanax? Ive heard Xanax is stronger because its a fast acting benzo. but
the problem would be that I would have to redose again that day right?
Valium takes longer to come on but its long lasting? What would you
recommend?

my bad i so meant to write valium 2-5 mg of xanax will fuck you up not just take away anxiety. believe me you want xanax not valium, valium is shit. start with one mg in the morning, and from there move on to another 1mg in the afternoon. this is a pretty serious drug, man. but don't be scared it just may save your life. one thing though, xanax is addicting so try not to take it everyday. if you must (which some peoiple have to depending on the degree of anxiety) you will need to taper off of it eventually. sudden stopping will cause serious withdrawls which can be fatal unlike heroin withdrawls.

Yeah I knew right off the bat about your mistake

I've tried xanax a couple times a friend of mine gave me a couple of
bars. I'm cautious with drugs so I started at .50mg and i didn't feel a
thing. So I tried 1mg and didn't feel it a couple hours later I took
another 1mg and still felt nothing. I think I naturally have a high
tolerance to this stuff. Once I get my shipment in Im going to try
1.50mg and see what happens. My plan is to use this stuff and get a
girlfriend once I complete this I will taper down. Use it only on occasions

I have anxiety issues as well and am prescribed either lorazepam or
xanax (most of the time I get lorazepam) and I notice that xanax only
works when I take 1mg when I first get my 'scrip. The next day I find I
have to bump it up to 1.5mg and so on. I don't like taking too many at
once so I leave it alone for a few days and suffer through the anxiety.
It's odd how other people can take it and it works, but I take it and
it does nada. This is why I like lorazepam, it works.

hmm. my first post.

i have been sober for over 3 years, and i am now convinced my agonizing
panic attacks were directly related to drugs and alcohol.

but after about 8 months sober i got some real bad ones, while friggin
sleeping of all places; woke up freaking out. went to the psych
at kaiser and less than a month later, prozac solved it outright.

after about a year of prozac, i stopped b/c my anxiety and panic attacks were gone.

sure enough, now about a year off prozac (now), i have had a few heavy
anxeity moments, and general feeling of dread. i think i will go
back on pzac, but i really want to give benzo's a try, specifically
valium, on the weekends to slow myself down. someone posted they
tried one of those online/foreign sites, prob. similar to the ones that
junk up my inbox.

is it kosher to ask if anyone has had success getting generic valium
online and where? also, what is the call on eating both prozac and
valium together?

Hey buddy,

Glad that you are clean. This post probably belongs in recovery and addiction. A big no-no is to ask for sources. The mods really don't like it. It's basically the most important rule. Prozac and valium together is a common combination.

Okay I got my xanax in from the mail. I took 2 1mg pills before work.
Within 1 hour i could slightly feel it coming on and I was glad. I was
hoping this was just the beginning and the feeling would get stronger.
1 hour later the feeling got weaker in fact i couldn't feel it at all
now. I was pretty dissappointed by this. Then I see a girl that I have
a crush on walk in and I immediately get an anxiety attack. I ignored
it and talked to her for awhile. Once she left I walked around a bit to
try to settle back down and popped another 1mg pill of xananx. This
didn't do much either anyways she came back in again later on that
night and I got another anxiety attack I ignored once again and said hi
to her and talked for awhile. This is crazy my tolerance shouldn't be
so high to a drug I have barely ever taken. ANyone know why this is? Im
going to try 4 mg's worth of Xanax tomorrow and see what happens.

okay took 4mg's worth of xanax before school started and it
started coming on in about one hour . But again the feeling felt weak
and later i was really sleepy. It seems Xanax has more of a body load
on me then a mental load. It didn't do much for my mind at all and
easilly still see myself getting anxiety attacks still. Anyone opinions
on what I else I could try for anxietys?
